Millionaires, Ashland High, Lancifer | Concert

This past Wednesday I went to Joliet, IL to see the Millionaires, Ashland High, Lancifer, and more! The Millionaires make the perfect music to let loose and dance to. They're badass chicks, but real sweethearts. Love them and have been a fan since the good ol' Myspace days! Ashland High (Trace Cyrus aka Miley's brother aka the singer from Metro Station) was good, too! I was super pumped when he did 'Shake It'. I had not heard of Lancifer prior to this show, but I can safely say that I love him now! He's like if 3OH!3 and Ke$ha had a baby. Go listen to Bring Your Bass (Let's Drop It). You won't be disappointed.

I was tempted to bring my 5D, but I wasn't sure how the venue would be about cameras, so I opted for my Nex 7. It did a pretty good job! It impresses me each time I use it. It was small and compact, yet took the quality photos that I'm looking for.

More are located on my Facebook page. Give it a like and check them out!

And I have to say it very explicitly on this post: DO NOT REPOST MY PHOTOS ANYWHERE AND DO NOT REMOVE MY WATERMARK. I've seen what has happened to photos taken of the Millionaires before and I don't want it happening to mine. I was not compensated for this, I took these for fun and to share. Please respect my work.

Victorian Halls, The Venetia Fair, and Flannel Mouth | Concert

I went up to Chicago to see some awesome bands: Victorian Halls, The Venetia Fair, and Flannel Mouth. I've seen them all before, they're all great performers, so needless to say, I was pumped for this show. Another perk is that I know all the band pretty well (that's an understatement for Flannel Mouth, who are high school buddies of mine), which meant I got pretty much free reign to take photos of the bands. I just took my Sony Nex 7 along, since it's small and has been doing amazing at the concerts I use it at.

Up first was Flannel Mouth! They've come so far from when I knew them as a whole different name haha. They're excellent musicians, you should definitely keep an eye on them.

Up next was The Venetia Fair and I love seeing these guys perform. They're insane in the best way possible. Even if you aren't fond of their music, you'll love their stage antics.

And closing the show was Victorian Halls. I always love the energy they bring to shows! They've got quick, catchy beats and great lyrics.

All these bands have made a stop in Peoria before! Flannel Mouth is from Peoria, actually, so be sure to check these bands out when you can!

Three Days Grace & Shinedown | Concert

This past Friday I went up to Moline to see Three Days Grace for the fourth time and Shinedown for the sixth time. So, yes, two of my absolute favorite bands! We got there about an hour before the doors opened and stood inside. It was SO cold that night. If I had to wait outside, I don't think I'd be able to. I'd have to go over and sit in TGIFridays or something, because that's how cold it was. It was a little unorganized once they finally did open the doors. It didn't matter how long you'd actually been in line, everyone just made a run to the doors. I managed to get pretty close and somehow worked my way all the way up to the third row by the time Three Days Grace started. It was an AMAZING show!

As most of you know by now, Adam of Three Days Grace announced that he had left the band with about 3 weeks to go until this tour kicked off. With no singer, Matt Walst of My Darkest Days filled in as lead vocals. I'm a huge fan of My Darkest Days, so I knew he'd be fine. I thought it was really cool of him to help his brother, Brad the bassist, out and make this tour happen for Three Days Grace. He actually did better than I expected, and I expected a lot! You could tell he was nervous, but can you blame him?! He got in his groove, though, and really killed it.

Shinedown was epic. They are one of the best bands to see live. If you've never seen them before, please do yourself a favor and do it! Brent, the singer, sounds amazing live and the whole band puts on a great show. Check out more of the photos from this concert on my Facebook page here.

Adelitas Way and Mindset Evolution | Concert

Friday night was 105.7 the X's Nutcracker 12 concert! I was a bit late due to another photoshoot, but I got there in time for Mindset Evolution and Adelitas Way. Since we were hosting the show, I pretty much had free reign to take photos wherever I wanted. It was awesome! I've seen both bands before multiple times, but this was the first time I got to photograph them. It was such a good concert! Check out my Facebook page for more!
