WANTED: Class of '14 Senior Reps

I am currently looking for 2014 Senior Reps from the Peoria Area high schools! This includes Limestone, East Peoria, Pekin, Peoria Heights, Dunlap, Notre Dame, Richwoods, Central, Washington, and Morton. What exactly is a senior rep? A senior rep is someone who is outgoing and comfortable in front of the camera. They appreciate photography and are eager to share their photos with others. A maximum of 2 senior reps from each school will be selected and if chosen, you agree to work exclusively with me for your senior photos.

What’s in it for you? Well, for each booking referred from you, you get 10% off your senior session. So if you refer 10 bookings, your session is free! After that, you’ll get other prizes like free wallets and proof books! If you refer 15 bookings, you will be automatically entered to win an 16GB wifi iPad Mini! Senior Reps will also be the first ones I turn to for any creative shoots I come up with throughout the year, so that’s even more free photos for you!

All you have to do is be enthusiastic about your photos and promote Kirsten Krupps Photography! You will receive a free mini session in the spring with photos to use on social media, as well as referral cards with photos from the session and a discount to those who use it to book with me. Senior reps will only use Kirsten Krupps Photography for their senior portraits.

So, one more time, you can earn:

1- 10 bookings = 10% per person off your senior session
12 bookings = 56 wallets from senior session
14 bookings = 50 page proof book from senior session
15 bookings = entered to win a 16GB wifi iPad Mini

Millionaires, Ashland High, Lancifer | Concert

This past Wednesday I went to Joliet, IL to see the Millionaires, Ashland High, Lancifer, and more! The Millionaires make the perfect music to let loose and dance to. They're badass chicks, but real sweethearts. Love them and have been a fan since the good ol' Myspace days! Ashland High (Trace Cyrus aka Miley's brother aka the singer from Metro Station) was good, too! I was super pumped when he did 'Shake It'. I had not heard of Lancifer prior to this show, but I can safely say that I love him now! He's like if 3OH!3 and Ke$ha had a baby. Go listen to Bring Your Bass (Let's Drop It). You won't be disappointed.

I was tempted to bring my 5D, but I wasn't sure how the venue would be about cameras, so I opted for my Nex 7. It did a pretty good job! It impresses me each time I use it. It was small and compact, yet took the quality photos that I'm looking for.

More are located on my Facebook page. Give it a like and check them out!

And I have to say it very explicitly on this post: DO NOT REPOST MY PHOTOS ANYWHERE AND DO NOT REMOVE MY WATERMARK. I've seen what has happened to photos taken of the Millionaires before and I don't want it happening to mine. I was not compensated for this, I took these for fun and to share. Please respect my work.

Pet Session Tips | Dog

I love, love, love animals, so naturally I enjoy taking photos of them, too! Animals are notoriously hard to photograph, but I like the challenge. There are some things you can do, though, to make the whole process easier and ensure we get more good photos for you to choose from. I've come up with a few things to do with your dog before and during the photography session to make the most of it!

1. Tire them out
Take your dog for a walk or do a vigorous play session. Or even both! I tired, content pooch is much more cooperative than a hyper one. This is a MUST. Please, exercise your furbaby right before our session so that we don't waste time trying to get them to sit still for a few photos.

2. Groom them
Even if their fur is long or short, groom them a bit and get them camera ready. This could include getting a new collar or bandana, as well.

3. Keep their favorite treat and/or toy handy
We will need anything and everything to entice your pooch to look at the camera at the right moment. Having treats and a variety of toys is a good way to make this happen. Toys can also be good props for the shoot itself!

4. Clean up the backyard
And when I say clean, I don't just mean sticks and leaves. Please pick up the dog poo, too. You'd be surprised what I have to do to get a good photo from your dog. Not worrying about land mines will make the session so much easier!

5. Tell me about your dog's personality
If your dog's a bum or super hyper, let me know! Knowing what I'm in for lets me stratigize. If your dog loves walks, lets walk him a bit for some photos. If they love swimming, lets let them swim! We want this to be as much fun as possible for your dog, too!

Other than that, we just play it by ear and do our best to get some shots of your furry friend! Below are some of my favorite dog shots!
