10 Years | Concert

I was planning on going to 10 Years at The Castle Theatre just to watch, but when my boss at Radio Peoria asked if I'd like to do a meet and greet and take photos, my response was, "heck yeah!" We headed up early and a few of us met 10 Years and got some posters signed. Afterwards, I headed down to the front to scope out my spots to take photos at. I was glad I was doing this now, because in a few weeks Foxy Shazam will be playing there for 105.7 the X. I feel like all I shoot lately is concerts, but I'm completely okay with this!

My Darkest Days | Concert

Tuesday I got to go see my favorite band, My Darkest Days, perform at Mojoes in Joliet, IL. It was so amazing! I got in touch with their manager to see if I could get a photo pass. I didn't hear back, so I just went over to the venue early to talk with the people she emailed to ask about the pass. I talked with Murphy and he gave the okay and got me set up with a wristband. I had the first 3 songs in the photo pit (which is industry standard) and the rest of the set to take photos from the stairs right beside the stage and the balcony. This band is my favorite for many reasons, one of them being that their live shows are amazing! They're also the most friendly band and treat their fans so well. They never hesitate to sign autographs or take pictures with their fans. Check them out if you haven't already, you won't regret it!

Edit: Reid, Doug, and Matt even used my photos as their defaults on Facebook! Again, another example of why I love this band.

Marilyn Manson & Rob Zombie Poster | Graphic Design

I took it upon myself to design a poster for the upcoming Marilyn Manson/Rob Zombie concert in Moline on October, 13th. 105.7 the X hadn't asked me to, but I figured I'd at least get something to add to my portfolio if nothing else. I wanted it to be scary and just scream Halloween! After I was all finished, they liked it so much that they went ahead and had it printed up and displayed!

I'm so excited for this show! I've been a Manson fan for a long time now (his greatest hits CD is one of my favorites) and I just know this will be an awesome show with him and Zombie! We're working on getting me a photo pass. I'm crossing my fingers! Even if I don't end up with one, it'll still be a great night!
